We’ve been doing it for a few days and it’s going well on the Tom front. The other cats, however, are being a pain in the butt.
I was told by the vet tech to put them in the bathroom for an hour with the food. The only one this works with is Stewart, because he’s really comfortable with the downstairs bathroom and has spent many hours in the sink. Yue cries and cries and Amalie does nothing at all but wait by the door.
Tommy started out grazing all the time, requiring food every hour and a half to two hours to start. Today I was aiming for every six hours but he made it to 4 1/2 hours. While he eats his food on the counter, I’ve been putting another dish of food on the floor and sitting between the two, with my back against the counter wall, watching whichever cat it is on the floor eat. Yue will eat until she makes herself vomit, so I pulled her food early today. She’s the last to eat. Hierarchy in this group of cats ranks Tommy Gargoyle, Amalie, Stewart and Yue, in that order from top to bottom.
I’m going to be suiting up other three cats with collars that have an RFID tag to the Gatefeeder and putting that out. Hopefully someone will take the clue that it will have unlimited food, but Tom won’t have access.
