Jak broke a primary feather this afternoon, struggling with me over her flight suit. It was also a blood feather.
I went to both CVS and Walgreens looking for hemostats, as tweezers just shred and shaft. They don’t carry them as an item or include them in any first aid kit.
I came back home and took this little leatherman multitool out of my bag that I got free from Marlboro. No, I don’t smoke but I like hook ups.
I used the pliers on it to pull the feather out all the way down into the wing. Success. Kwik Stop just in case.

Be prepared. I’m stressed.

I get Koi this weekend. I’ll be picking up a bird first aid kit along with their Boing and Atom.
