Comings and Goings

Three weeks ago, Honey joined the herd, bringing the number up to 4. Her weight bounces back and forth by several grams, and today she weighs in at 887 so I’m supplementing hand feedings again. Her mammary tumor seems to be stable at the same size, and she gets along well with the other guinea […]

Honey is doing very well with the rest of the guinea pigs. I reset the pig pen with a freshly laundered liner and removed the fabric corner cave and replaced it with a plastic “pigloo”. I also removed the wooden house and replaced that with the large pigloo. Basically the point was to neutralize their […]

guinea pigs weigh in

Skeeter 887 grams Chai 966 grams Mu-Xi 1072 grams I thought that Chai was losing weight but she’s just soft. She’s actually gained since the last formal weigh in. Skeeter has dropped again. Mu-Xi just makes me proud. Chai used to have that heft. I’m so itchy. Mu-Xi decided to spelunk down my shirt instead […]

I weighed in the guinea pigs this evening. Mu-Xi takes the lead as my big, glossy, shy girl with 1022 grams. Skeeter is 926 grams. Chai is at 892 grams and 7 weeks out of surgery for her spay. Right after the spay, with the swelling and leaking(seeping), she was just under 910 grams. She’s […]

It has been awhile since the last update

I went back to work on October 15th. I can’t say I’m thrilled with it because I don’t sleep well and I get up at 4 am to be at the office at 6am. Sometimes the doors around my home get opened further than they should be a cat and then next thing I know […]

2 weeks went by

Yesterday with Chai weighing at 849 grams and being 2 weeks post surgery, I put her back in the pen. She has atrophe to her leg muscles and needs the space. Skeeter, the naked stupid one, decided to challenge her as she’d been bullying Mu-Xi for the last week. convalesced and ancient, Chai beat her […]
