Another change in dynamic

I’m suddenly a hands-off piggie parent. My guinea pig,Honey, has been on medication since September and just recently passed on towards the Rainbow Bridge. That leaves two: Chai and Mu-Xi. Chai has never been a problematic guinea pig but she used to be called The Militia, always being able to evade me when I tried […]

We lost Honey

She brought a lot of joy to my  home in the last few months she was here. I found her this morning. To my knowledge she was about 4 1/2. Adoption can be a wonderful thing.

Comings and Goings

Three weeks ago, Honey joined the herd, bringing the number up to 4. Her weight bounces back and forth by several grams, and today she weighs in at 887 so I’m supplementing hand feedings again. Her mammary tumor seems to be stable at the same size, and she gets along well with the other guinea […]

happenings

Honey is doing very well with the rest of the guinea pigs. I reset the pig pen with a freshly laundered liner and removed the fabric corner cave and replaced it with a plastic “pigloo”. I also removed the wooden house and replaced that with the large pigloo. Basically the point was to neutralize their […]
