Hurricane Katrina Rescue Dog passes away at age 14

I knew Roxie. My parents were still living in Texas, while I was off in Los Angeles for the year. My mother, Kandy, got Roxie from a rescue after the hurricane had done it’s damage, and left so many of their people and pets displaced and looking to put their lives back together. This angel […]

Hard News to Share – The Rat Lady Has Died

I used to have rats years ago, and when I did I found the books by Debbie Ducommon and The Rat Fan Club, which also has a group over over 10,000 members on Facebook. Debbie has had quite the career for working with rats and their owners, as well as supplying me with costumes for […]

When you lose another member of your guinea pig herd

You don’t get enough time. It’s dumb, because it’s unrealistic. I had an 8 year old guinea pig start to get poorly on me, and I just kept telling myself I could get another year out of her. That wasn’t fair to her, because we’d had a long full life together. She gave me two […]

I’ll post more later. My fuzzy red potato died #guineapigs

My little red pork dumpling, Potsticker, went to the vet early today, but didn't survive after a few hours in treatment. She would have had her third birthday next month. Sticky Girl was born in my home, and leaves behind her mother, sister, and a few broken hearts. #guineapigsof_ig #guineapigs #guineapigsofinstagram #rainbowbridge A post shared […]

Ruby was born in my home with her sisters Murphy and Potsticker back in February 2015. She left unexpectedly this morning, even before her mother, Lily.  This pigture was taken the day after her birth, with Murphy tucked away behind her.

We put Mu-Xi to sleep

She wasn’t getting enough food, wasn’t getting enough water, having difficulty swallowing what she would chew, was jerking around in pain when trying to lay down to fall asleep so instead she laid in a puffy little ball, allowed me to pet her in the pig pen and pick her up without a fight… She […]

Play hard, Lila

When I saw this little black smashed face dog for adoption on Petfinder, I thought it was great because of her coloring, and that I should go out to meet her. She was at Forget-Me-Not Pekingese Rescue out in California. I was living in Phoenix, ran it by my boyfriend, and then took my ex […]

We lost one

Tommy somehow got to a baby this morning. He ate it’s face off. I didn’t talk to him all day. The pig pen is like triple reinforced now and everything has walls to it’s ceiling and then the grate on the top is ziptied shut when I’m not interacting with them.

Chai is gone

For those of you not keeping up on my Twitter, Chai died last night. She had finally reached 800 grams again for the first time since December 3rd. Then she wasn’t eating yesterday and last night she went into convulsions. We wrapped her up in a little blanket and Dismal and I stroked her until […]

We lost Honey

She brought a lot of joy to my  home in the last few months she was here. I found her this morning. To my knowledge she was about 4 1/2. Adoption can be a wonderful thing.
